Artificial intelligence is advancing by leaps and bounds, and multiple uses can already be given to it. ChatGPT is the most standardized, and with it, you can create practically any content: from a text, generate an image, or solve a mathematical formula.

Now, artificial intelligence can also be used in WhatsApp. There are several ‘bots’ that, once added to contacts, allow you to transcribe received audio.

There are many cases in which it is not possible to listen to an audio or that it needs to be shorter. To save time, various companies have already generated codes that use artificial intelligence to transcribe this audio.

How the app works

The operation is simple: you have to save the number in the phone as if it were another contact. At that time, the ‘bot’ will appear in WhatsApp with the name with which it has been saved, and all kinds of audio with different durations can be sent to it.

The program first sends a message with the message ‘Transcribing…’ Then the written audio appears. Also, in case this is in English, it not only transcribes it but also translates it.

In case it is very long, this artificial intelligence sends two messages. The first with the exact transcript and the second with a conversation summary.

It is an application that is still under development since if you send a video to be transcribed, the message it will send is that you cannot do it now, although it ensures that they are already working on this update.

The application is called ‘Transcribe Me App’ and is an Argentine company. When installing with a code, a message indicates that the company “is a secure Meta service to manage the chat.” Clicking on this message, you can get more information. It indicates after this step that the user has control of the conversation “at all times,” and they can “stop chatting with this company or block it” whenever they want. It also expresses that WhatsApp protects your messages and calls with it. WhatsApp uses with it a protection system linked to company chats.

Another application that has become popular in this sense is ‘LuzIA,’ which allows users to interact like it in the same way as with ChatGPT. It is a service that is also trained to transcribe from other systems.

In LuzIA’s privacy policy, it appears that it collects, for example, web pages or access files that it uses for updates. In the case of Transcribe Me, it explains that none of the audio is stored.

However, cybersecurity experts explain that care must be taken with any document, audio, video, or text shared with artificial intelligence applications, whatever it may be. It is also important to read the privacy policy carefully to have greater control over personal information and maximize precautions to avoid any risk.
